This English version is provided for information. In the event of any inconsistency, the French version shall prevail.

1. Purpose

This policy explains the use of cookies and similar technologies on www.lionyachting.com.

A cookie or tracker is information stored on or read from your device when visiting a website. Some trackers are strictly necessary for the service to operate; others require prior consent.

2. Launch configuration

The initial website should follow a data-minimisation approach:

• no advertising cookies;
• no social-media pixels;
• no behavioural tracking;
• no automatic loading of third-party content that stores or reads non-essential trackers;
• no consent-based audience measurement until a compliant consent manager is installed.

Under this configuration, no consent banner is required. The website may use strictly necessary trackers only, for example to:

• secure the website and forms;
• remember language choice;
• maintain a technical session or load balancing;
• remember consent choices if a manager is introduced later.

The use of genuinely necessary cookies must not trigger an artificial consent request.

3. Tools and content to block before consent

If the Web Developer intends to install any of the following, a prior audit is required and loading must be blocked until the user has made a choice where consent is required:

• Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager used for measurement or marketing, Meta Pixel or similar tools;
• embedded YouTube, Vimeo or external media players;
• Google Maps or other interactive third-party maps;
• social-media buttons or widgets;
• chat, appointment, personalisation or retargeting tools;
• third-party fonts, scripts or services that store or read non-essential identifiers;
• third-party anti-spam tools where their operation involves non-essential trackers.

To avoid an unnecessary banner at launch:

• use a static map or external directions link instead of automatically loading an interactive map;
• host fonts locally;
• use ordinary links to social profiles rather than embedded widgets;
• prefer a privacy-conscious anti-spam solution and document it;
• do not install analytics until an explicit decision has been made.

4. If a consent manager becomes necessary

The banner must:

• appear before any non-essential tracker is stored or read;
• clearly identify the purposes;
• offer “Accept all” and “Reject all” with comparable visibility and ease;
• allow choices by purpose;
• use no pre-ticked boxes;
• not treat continued browsing as consent;
• retain evidence of the choice;
• allow withdrawal as easily as consent was given;
• keep a permanent “Manage cookies” link in the footer.

Refusal must not prevent access to essential website content.

Recommended operational duration of the choice: six months, after which consent should be requested again where necessary. New consent must also be obtained after a material change to purposes or partners.

5. Cookie categories

Strictly necessary cookies

Purpose: security, technical operation, language choice, load balancing, abuse prevention and storage of the consent choice.

Consent: not required where genuinely indispensable to the requested service.

Audience measurement

Purpose: understand website use and improve performance.

Consent: required unless the solution strictly meets applicable exemption conditions and is configured in a limited manner. Any exemption must be documented by the Web Developer.

Third-party content and services

Purpose: display a map, video, appointment tool, chat or other external content.

Consent: required where the service accesses information on the device or uses non-essential trackers. Before consent, display a neutral placeholder with an activation button.

Marketing and social media

Purpose: advertising, retargeting, campaign measurement, profiling or enhanced social sharing.

Consent: always required before loading.

6. Tracker table to complete before production

After the final technical audit, the Web Developer must provide an up-to-date table containing for each tracker:

• name;
• provider;
• purpose;
• category;
• domain;
• retention period;
• whether consent is required;
• link to the provider’s documentation.

No undocumented tracker may be deployed in production.

7. Managing choices

Where only strictly necessary cookies are used, no choice is requested because these trackers are indispensable to the requested functionality.

If optional trackers are enabled, users must be able to accept, reject or customise them through the banner and change their choices at any time using the “Manage cookies” link.

Browser settings may also be used, but they do not replace the website’s duty to obtain prior consent where required.
