Electric & hybrid boats

Quiet boating, for leisure and professional operation alike.

Lion Yachting supports the search for new and pre-owned electric or hybrid boats, conversion projects and the commissioning of quiet craft for professional sites and activities.

A propulsion choice driven by use

Silence, no fumes or smell, simpler engine maintenance: electric propulsion changes the experience on board, especially on sheltered waters, lakes, rivers and sites where noise and emissions are regulated.

In return, it means thinking in terms of range, cruising speed and charging options. Hybrid propulsion combines an electric motor with a combustion engine to pair quiet cruising with a wider operating range. The right choice depends on the real programme, not on a preference in principle.

Electric propulsion control integrated into a boat

Leisure boating

Dayboats, lake boats, launches and tenders.

For day trips with family or friends, on a lake, a river or a sheltered coast, an electric boat offers calm, sociable cruising. Lion Yachting presents new electric dayboats, such as those from Canna Boats, and searches for suitable pre-owned craft.

Depending on the project, we support:

  • the choice between electric, hybrid or combustion propulsion;
  • the selection of a new model or a pre-owned boat;
  • the assessment of an electric conversion of an existing boat;
  • charging arrangements in the marina or at the pontoon;
  • delivery, launching and handover.

Professional use

Quiet craft to welcome, carry and show guests around.

Passenger launches, shuttles, licence-free rental, guest transfers, demonstration or service craft: on a tourist site, an estate, a hotel, a marina or a watersports base, electric or hybrid propulsion can meet expectations of calm and image, as well as local navigation rules.

We help define the operating programme — passenger numbers, routes, rotations, charging, maintenance, regulations and budget — then select the craft and coordinate their delivery.

Electric, hybrid or conversion?

Electric

For predictable routes, moderate speeds and regular access to charging: launches, lakes, rivers, marinas and day trips.

Hybrid

To cruise silently over part of the route while keeping a longer range or a larger power reserve.

Conversion

To give an existing hull new propulsion, particularly a classic boat, after a serious feasibility study.

What a serious assessment must check

Electric propulsion can be particularly suitable for a dayboat, lake boat, passenger launch or classic craft operating on predictable routes. It is not, however, a universal solution. A serious assessment must consider:

  • hull form, displacement and expected performance;
  • the real operating profile and cruising speed;
  • required power;
  • battery capacity and weight;
  • usable range and safety margins;
  • charging possibilities;
  • ventilation, cooling and electrical protection;
  • mechanical and structural integration;
  • compliance, insurance and manufacturer requirements.

How we support you

One point of contact, from the first idea to the handover of the boat.

  1. Programme

    We clarify the intended use, operating area, number of passengers, desired speed and trip length, timetable and budget.

  2. Energy & charging

    We assess the range required, safety margins and charging options where the boat will be used.

  3. Choice of solution

    We compare a new boat, a pre-owned boat and a conversion, with electric or hybrid propulsion.

  4. Coordination

    We centralise exchanges with builders, yards, engine specialists, electricians and other specialists required.

  5. Delivery & handover

    We prepare delivery, launching, sea trials and handover of the boat.

Important — technical feasibility & range

Performance, range and charging times depend on the boat, propulsion system, batteries, load, speed, weather and operating profile. They must be confirmed from manufacturer data and, where required, through an appropriate technical study.

Lion Yachting does not guarantee the feasibility of a conversion before survey or a specific range. Propulsion calculations, structural modifications and electrical work must be validated and carried out by the required qualified professionals.
