1. Data controller
The data controller is Lion Yachting (full legal details being updated), located at 1169 avenue de Camargue, 30240 Le Grau-du-Roi, France.

2. Data that may be collected
Depending on your use of the website and the nature of your enquiry, Lion Yachting may collect:
- your first and last name;
- your email address and telephone number;
- your company, role and country;
- information about your boat, search or project;
- files voluntarily attached to the form;
- the content and history of communications;
- limited technical data required for security and website operation, such as IP address, date, time, browser and error logs;
- your cookie choices and, where applicable, audience-measurement data subject to consent.
Do not submit sensitive personal data or confidential documents through the public form unless necessary for the initial review of your enquiry.
3. Purposes and legal bases
Data are processed for the following purposes:
Responding to enquiries, qualifying a project, arranging a discussion, preparing a proposal or taking pre-contractual steps.
Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract and, depending on context, Lion Yachting’s legitimate interest in responding to professional enquiries.
Managing contracts, assignments, invoicing, client follow-up and legal or accounting obligations.
Legal basis: performance of a contract and compliance with legal obligations.
Maintaining security, preventing abuse, diagnosing errors and operating the website.
Legal basis: Lion Yachting’s legitimate interest in protecting its systems and business.
Sending marketing communications or a newsletter.
Legal basis: consent where required. Subscription must be separate from the contact form and every message must provide a simple unsubscribe method.
Measuring audience or improving the website.
Legal basis: prior consent where the tools used do not meet the conditions applicable to strictly necessary trackers or limited exempt audience measurement.
4. Required information
Fields marked as required are necessary to process the enquiry. Without them, Lion Yachting may be unable to respond or prepare a proposal.
Other fields are optional. No decision producing legal effects is made solely through automated processing of website-form data.
5. Recipients
Data are accessible only to:
- authorised persons within Lion Yachting;
- technical providers required for hosting, email, security, maintenance, forms or CRM, within the scope of their services;
- advisers, surveyors, shipyards, brokers, transport providers, insurers or other partners where disclosure is necessary to assess or perform your project, with your agreement or within the contractual relationship;
- legally authorised public authorities where required.
Lion Yachting does not sell personal data.
6. Retention periods
Data are kept only for as long as necessary:
- enquiries or prospects not resulting in an assignment: up to three years after the last meaningful interaction;
- technical or confidential attachments not resulting in an assignment: deleted once no longer required, normally within a maximum of twelve months;
- client and contractual records: during the relationship and afterwards for periods required to establish, exercise or defend legal rights;
- accounting records and invoices: for the applicable statutory period, generally ten years;
- technical and security logs: limited to security needs, normally no longer than twelve months unless an incident requires longer retention;
- consent choices and associated evidence: for as long as required to manage and demonstrate the choice.
Data are then deleted or securely archived where a legal obligation requires retention.
7. Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Lion Yachting gives preference to providers located in the European Economic Area. Where a provider processes data outside it, Lion Yachting ensures that an appropriate legal mechanism is used, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses, and that relevant information is available in the provider’s documentation.
8. Security
Lion Yachting applies reasonable organisational and technical measures intended to protect data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure.
The Web Developer must use HTTPS, protect forms against abuse, restrict administrator access, keep components updated and avoid insecure transmission of sensitive attachments.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable conditions, you have the following rights:
- access;
- rectification;
- erasure;
- restriction of processing;
- objection to processing based on legitimate interests;
- portability where applicable;
- withdrawal of consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
To exercise your rights, email contact@lionyachting.com and describe your request. Proof of identity will be requested only where there is reasonable doubt about the requester’s identity.
You may also lodge a complaint with the French data-protection authority, the CNIL.
10. Cookies
Information about cookies and similar technologies is provided in the Cookie Policy. Where a consent manager is active, choices can be changed at any time using the “Manage cookies” link.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the website, providers or applicable rules. The latest update date appears below.

Information submitted is used by Lion Yachting to respond to your enquiry and, where necessary, take pre-contractual steps. Fields marked with an asterisk are required. For retention periods, recipients and your rights, read our Privacy Policy. You may also contact contact@lionyachting.com or lodge a complaint with the CNIL.
A privacy-policy acceptance box must not be used as artificial consent where processing is necessary to answer the enquiry. The form should display the information notice and use a separate, optional, unticked box only if marketing subscription is offered.
